As part of our ongoing commitment to modernizing alcohol sales in Ontario, The Beer Store will be updating our refund policy. Starting September 3, 2024, proof of purchase will be required for any refunds or exchanges. This change aligns with industry standards and reflects our focus on providing a secure and trustworthy shopping experience.
Why Are We Implementing This Change?
Supporting the Modernization of Alcohol Sales in Ontario
The beverage alcohol marketplace in Ontario is evolving rapidly. To keep pace, we must ensure all transactions are clear and secure. By requiring proof of purchase, we can confirm that returned products were purchased from a TBS location, which helps maintain the trust of our customers and ensures that costs are managed effectively.
Ensuring Consistency with Industry Standards
We are updating our practices to align with those of other retailers. Our new policy will now enforce the requirement of a receipt for refunds within 30 days. Exchanges will only be permitted for damaged products purchased at TBS.
Key Changes to Our Refund Policy
Unopened Products: A receipt is required for all returns or exchanges within 30 days of purchase.
Product Quality Concerns: We are committed to ensuring your satisfaction. If you encounter a defective or damaged product, we will gladly exchange it for an identical item. Please note that exchanges are handled with care and consideration to maintain our high standards of service.

In line with our efforts to modernize alcohol sales, we are updating our refund policy. Please review the following changes:
Unopened Products: A receipt is required for all returns/exchanges (within 30 days of purchase)
Product Quality Complaints
A receipt is required for refund (within 30 days of purchase)
Product quality returns with valid receipt beyond 30 days or no receipt, will be exchange only (no refund)
With Receipt (Unopened):
Updated Policy: Full cash/credit card refund for the amount shown but must be within 30 days of purchase with receipt.
Without Receipt:
Updated Policy: A receipt will be required for all refunds/exchanges. Without proof of purchase, all sales will be considered final.
Damaged/Defective Product:
Current policy no change: Straight exchange for an identical item. Please note that exchanges are handled with care and consideration to maintain our high standards of service.
